Service Area Mapping

Service Areas are the mapped location of our Member Utility’s underground facilities within the State of Indiana.  Your company will receive locate requests based on this area.  It is important and the Member’s responsibility to provide Indiana 811 with their most current mapping.  The two ways to provide your service area are listed below.

Upload Process

Indiana 811 provides a feature for utility members to upload digital mapping files. The digital mapping files must be in the following format:

• · ESRI Buffered Polygon Shape File
• · Geographic NAD83 Latitude Longitude Datum
• · Under 10,000 vertices
• · Under 5MB in size

To begin the upload process you will first need to login to the system here. If you do not have a user name and password into the system, an account will need to be created for you. Please email Member Services to start the process for account creation.

Manual Process

The other option is to manually draw your service area using our online mapping program.  The program is user friendly and requires a brief training session.  To gain access to the program, please email Member Services.
